Mid-Century Monday: Windsor Place, Raleigh

August 17, 2020

Each Monday here on the Red Bloom Realty Blog, I highlight a home in the Triangle that is in a mid-century style.

What are the defining characteristics of mid-century modern?  Well, it can be hard to define.  But, typically MCM homes are defined by clean lines, minimal ornamentation, mixed materials (especially organic), indoor/outdoor living, and juxtaposition (sometimes of materials, sometimes of color).

This home, which features 2200+ square feet with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, checks all the boxes.  It’s listed at $600,000.

The lines of the home are dramatic and appealing.  Carports aren’t typically the sexiest feature of a home, but here the lines, when combined with the hardscaping on the ground, provide interest and movement.  The inside lines are just as appealing, and the use of brick, stone, and color, give each room a distinctive visual experience.  And, as you can see, this home has a lovely patio for outdoor activities.

One thing this home provides that is often lacking in a mid-century house is a master suite that knocks your socks off — good size, significant walk-in closet, gorgeous bathroom, and even an attached sunroom.

See the pictures below and more detail here on our site.  Let me know if you want  set up a showing!
